Julia Burke

Julia is a lawyer who works as Counsel to Ellen Low & Co Employment Law.
Born and raised in Toronto, she is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law. Having studied kinesiology and business in her undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, Julia takes great pride in being able to draw on her science and business background, which allows her to take a detail-oriented yet pragmatic and business savvy approach in providing legal services to clients with long term solutions in mind.
Julia’s skillset covers all areas of employment law including: wrongful dismissal, human rights and accommodation, recruitment and hiring, employment standards, performance management, contracts, restrictive covenants, workplace policies, harassment, workplace safety, privacy, and related litigation. Julia also has significant workplace investigation experience, including allegations of harassment and violence, discrimination, academic research integrity, fraud, and other breaches of policy.
Having worked for a boutique employment law firm on Bay Street, Toronto, for approximately five years, Julia has assisted and opposed employers of all types and sizes. Having an employee and employer-side practice, Julia brings a balanced and well-informed approach to her clients. She has represented her clients at the Supreme Court of Canada, Ontario Court of Appeal, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and the Ontario Labour Relations Board. Outside of work, you will find Julia playing sports, such as soccer, golf, or ping pong, playing fetch with her Nova Scotia Dulling Tolling Retriever, or searching for the next best restaurant.
